I'm in the 20th grade and I am researching Space Weather.
-What is space weather?  We kinda stole the word 'weather' - but roll with me on this one.

"Space Has Weather?"  - Storms!

Sun - Big - Explosions!!

Because the sun is magnetized... it magnetizes the stuff that comes off of it ... so basically, it's spitting a ton of little flaming magnets at us - all the time.

I know what you're thinking...
uhh john, I don't know if you've been outside lately, but flaming magnets are not falling from the sky.

- tada!  It's because we have a SHIELD!

so, yes - the shield protects us.  But sun keeps throwing more and more junk at us.
  Wave after wave it comes in.

-Piles up, the pressure grows... and ... you've seen this before when you take two magnets that don't want to go together - and you force them together.
